A major service disruption has hit Reliance Jio, affecting thousands of users across India. Complaints have flowed in from all corners of the country, with customers reporting loss of internet connectivity, dropped mobile signals, and interruptions to Jio Fiber services.
The disruption appears to have begun early in the afternoon. According to Downdetector data, reports started leaking in around 1:30 PM with roughly 200 affected users. In less than an hour, that number skyrocketed past 12,000, pointing to a significant and widespread issue.
Initial user feedback indicates that mobile data is the most affected, accounting for about 56% of the complaints. Around 29% of users have reported difficulties in receiving mobile signals, while another 15% are facing connectivity issues with Jio Fiber, the company’s home broadband service.
Social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) has been flooded with frustrated posts. Users are sharing screenshots of signal loss, “No Service” errors, and blank network bars, mentioning Jio’s official social media accounts while asking for answers. Despite the growing number of complaints, Reliance Jio has yet to make a public statement addressing the issue or explaining the cause of the failure.
Although the exact areas most affected have not been confirmed, the outage seems to be impacting users in several states, leading to speculation that this may be a nationwide technical problem. While Jio has seen intermittent service issues in the past, the scale and speed of this disruption suggest a more serious network failure.
As of now, the root cause remains unknown. Some experts speculate the problem could arise from a backend system failure or a software update gone wrong. However, without an official explanation, the reason behind the outage remains uncertain.
In the meantime, customers were advised to try basic troubleshooting steps like restarting their devices or toggling airplane mode. Following widespread disruptions, Reliance Jio has now restored services, bringing relief to thousands affected. While the exact cause of the outage remains unclear, the incident has sparked renewed concerns about the reliability of telecom infrastructure. With services back online, users are hopeful for more transparency and stronger safeguards against future disruptions.
