Google’s Nano Banana AI model is dominating online conversations, particularly on social media. Before this tool started trending, the ChatGPT Ghibli craze had already captured users’ attention. Now, Google’s latest engine, officially called Flash Image Model 2.5 but widely known as Nano Banana, is being used to create a massive range of images.
To make Nano Banana even easier to access, Perplexity AI has integrated it into WhatsApp. This move brings the image-generation model to one of the world’s largest messaging platforms, which enjoys a massive user base in India and beyond. By comparison, Meta AI, currently built into WhatsApp, does not yet operate at the same level as Google’s Gemini or Nano Banana. Perplexity announced that WhatsApp users can now run the Nano Banana engine directly in their chats. The AI startup has added Google’s Gemini 2.5 Flash engine to its platform.
How to Use Nano Banana on WhatsApp
Until now, people had to visit Gemini or Google AI Studio to use Nano Banana. That’s no longer necessary. To try the model inside WhatsApp, simply start a chat with the Perplexity AI bot.
- Start a chat with Perplexity’s bot by saving the number +1 (833) 436-3285
- Add your image and type the desired prompt describing the edit you want.
- Wait for a few seconds, and your AI-generated image will be uploaded.
Nano Banana works best with rich, descriptive prompts and will deliver the same high-quality results you’d get from Google’s own apps. From trending styles like the iconic saree look to ultra-high-resolution retro portraits, the model reproduces them all with precision.
Example Prompt: An elegant, high-resolution photograph capturing a hand-painted ceramic mug resting on a rustic wooden table. The mug features intricate floral patterns in deep blues and golds, with a glossy finish that reflects soft natural light. Steam rises gently from the hot drink inside, creating a sense of warmth and comfort. The background is softly out of focus, revealing hints of an indoor cafe with muted tones and potted plants, adding depth and a relaxed atmosphere while showcasing the artistry of the mug.
Is Nano Banana on WhatsApp Free?
Perplexity has not yet confirmed whether its WhatsApp bot offers Nano Banana usage for free. Google provides a limited free access for this engine, with paid plans unlocking greater access, so a similar model may apply here. India already ranks as the largest market for Nano Banana, according to Google. With the Gemini app topping charts on both the App Store and Google Play, adding Nano Banana to WhatsApp will likely bring even more users into the trend.
